The Exeter Hip Foundation is an independent organisation, established by four specialist hip surgeons, to provide a personalised hip replacement service that includes all arrangements for travel, accommodation, surgery and recovery. Whether you need a primary (first-time) hip, a complex procedure or a revision (re-do) of a failed hip, we will ensure that your operation is as straightforward and as successful as possible.

The Exeter Hip is one of the world’s leading hip replacements, with excellent clinical results dating back 36 years, which have made it the “gold standard” against which others are judged. It is the most commonly used hip replacement in the world and is suitable for all patients, regardless of age or activity.

The success of a hip replacement is determined as much by the surgeon as it is by the type of hip that is used. The best results are reported from centres where surgeons specialise in joint replacement and carry out large numbers of these operations.  If you require a hip replacement it makes sense to be treated by a surgeon specialised in hip surgery at the centre where the hip was invented and continues to be developed.
